How to schedule your free local pickup
1. Tell us about your California vehicle

2. Choose a convenient local pickup window
We’ll confirm that we can pick up at your address—anywhere in California—and offer available days and time windows. In busy areas like Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Oakland, slots can fill quickly, while more rural areas may have limited days. We work with you to find a time that fits your schedule and gives the tow driver enough access and daylight to load safely.
3. Prepare the keys, title, and access
Before pickup day, remove personal items from the vehicle and have the keys ready. If you have the California title, keep it handy so you can sign it over to complete the donation. Make sure the car is in an accessible spot—street-legal parking in Long Beach, a condo lot in Sacramento, or a driveway in Modesto—so the tow truck can reach and load it without moving other cars.
4. Meet the tow driver or arrange a safe handoff
In many California neighborhoods, it’s best if someone is present to sign paperwork and hand over keys and the title. Tight streets, hills, and alley access in California cities
Tip: Neighborhoods like San Francisco’s Mission District, LA’s Silver Lake, or Oakland’s Temescal can be tough for larger flatbeds. If your car is on a steep hill, narrow alley, or tight garage, let us know upfront so we can send appropriate equipment or ask you to move the vehicle to a wider street corner or driveway if possible.
Gate codes, HOAs, and secured parking garages
Tip: Many California communities—from Irvine and Santa Clarita to San Jose high-rises—have gated lots or underground garages. Please share gate codes, parking level, and any HOA or building rules before pickup. If at-home pickup is tricky
If an at-home pickup is tricky—for example, your vehicle is in a tight San Francisco garage, on an unpaved mountain road near Lake Tahoe, or in a restricted UC campus lot—talk with us about alternatives. You may be able to have a friend move the vehicle to a more accessible spot, meet the tow driver at a nearby shopping center or park-and-ride, or coordinate with your building manager for temporary surface parking. Rev Up Hope serves donors throughout California (CA), from Los Angeles County and the Bay Area to San Diego, the Central Coast, Inland Empire, and Central Valley. We pick up in neighborhoods like Hollywood, Koreatown, and Van Nuys; East Bay communities such as Berkeley and Richmond; and suburbs like Torrance, Chula Vista, Folsom, and Clovis. Rural areas may have longer lead times, but we still work to reach you. When you donate, you’ll sign your California title over to the charity’s authorized agent; you should also remove your license plates and consult the California DMV about releasing liability and any notice of transfer steps after donation.
